MACCIA recognises that efficient airports and air connectivity are vital for Maharashtra’s economic growth. The Aviation & Airport Development Committee is focused on identifying and addressing issues faced by the State’s airports from infrastructure gaps to cargo handling and passenger services.

It organises meetings with private airline operators to encourage new intra-State routes and services, holds quarterly reviews with airport officials to resolve problems, and prepares comparative charts of rates, incentives and services offered by Maharashtra airports versus those in other States.

The Committee also plans an annual conference to bring together stakeholders, makes representations for proper implementation of the UDAN scheme.
